I've worked for the judicial system and I've seen what truck drivers take home and I was shocked how poorly they are paid in many instances. COVID has showed how poorly paid folks who we as a country depend upon for necessities. The cashier at your local grocery; the guy at the fast food place, the waiter/waitress at your favorite restaurant, etc. These folks have been poorly paid forever, now that there is a shortage of workers, it's time to appreciate the work they do. Most big businesses have raised wages and some have started providing benefits. We're all going to pay more, but Americans will have more to contribute to our economy. This is a good thing for our country. Every full time worker should earn a livable wage. PERIOD.

This, folks, is why we are where we are.

Idiots that do not understand how any of this works, and their solution is more stupidity.

It used to be that these were either entry-level jobs, first jobs, or jobs used to bridge the gap between jobs. Now, for some reason, they are being treated as careers or longterm jobs. They shouldn't be.

Your math doesn't work out here, and I don't think you are seeing the snowball effect in the job market.

The problem with this...most people want to stay home and suckle at the gov't teet. They figure they can make just as much money doing that versus getting a job.

This is such a upper class waspy thing to say.

Do you not realize you just said EVERYONE will pay more? Even the people you claim you are helping

Inflation hurts the poor the most. The costs of more expensive truck drivers is just passed onto consumers you fricking moron.

It’s not a living wage when the cost of everything goes up more than your wages go up.

If that wasn’t satire, then you are a real fricking part of the problem with no moral authority.

We are going to eat you shallow thinkers, first.

People probably would be able to make a living on low wages if inflation wouldn't be crushing them.

But a "Living wage" is a myth. There are no standards for it.

that’s on the customer, if you tip well, they make well, if not then the restaurant has to fill in the gap and the loss of profit is passed onto you - the customer - in the form of more expensive meals

Cashiers and fast food workers should not be career goals

But, clearly, you don’t even have a rudimentary understanding of basic f*cking economics.
