Even Democrats know how stupid this is. And this could also potentially help them lose a lot of black/poor voters as well. At least that is my hope (whether this ultimately goes through or not).

Do y’all really think the families are going to get this almost 1 billion dollars? They might get $100 and lawyers will funnel the rest to someone else.
