It matters because now the SEC champ can probably lose a game and still make the BCSNCG.
eta---that's a pretty big deal imho

If it isn't us, who cares? You really want Florida to win two in three years? You really want Bama to win a national championship? You really want Georgia to win one? OK, I give you the last one. Georgia would make a good NC.

So, a one loss SEC champ had no line in on the game? I beg to differ. We'd beat out any conference champ with one loss. So, you are happy that we won't have to play USC. That's it. Great, an SEC team won't have to play USC. That sounds a bit pussy if you ask me.

Any time the number one team in the nation unless it's LSU loses to an unranked team, it is like christmas, because it makes everyone feel like they have a shot at getting to the NC game.

I guess we made Christmas happen twice last year. We are very giving.

are you so myopic that you cannot enjoy more than one thing simultaneously?
I can enjoy the LSU season as it goes along while also enjoying the OSU victory over USC.
not really difficult, to be honest

Eh, not Bama, but if it can't be LSU, might as well be UF or UGA.

USC has only won 1 national championship in how long? Why are they the fricking benchmark for college football success? they aren't the best team in the nation year in and year out. If you ask me, people should be more excited when an SEC team loses because that probably means there team won't get blown out by that SEC in the NC game. And honestly if LSU isn't playing in the NC game, I want it to be an SEC team. I don't care who it is. Florida, Georgia, Bama, I don't care.

College football is NOT a national sport to me. I really don't GAF what happens to USC. I'd think the SEC champ would want to play an undefeated USC team. Now if we play them, the win it is something that OSU already accomplished.

It definitely does. It COMPLETELY eliminates a team from the BCS title picture and provides a margin of error for a lot of teams...in the SEC, Big 12 and even Big 10 (if the team is Penn State).

You don't like the SEC enough. The SEC regular season IS college football. Somewhere people lost this FACT.

So by that logic, no one should have cared last year when we beat Florida, because that was something that Auburn had already accomplished. That is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard. I doubt you could get anyone to admit that the florida game was less of a win becuase Auburn had beat them once already.

SEC. What happens in the SEC matters. What happens in, wherever that game was last night, does not.

Pardon, but Wisconsin is ranked ahead of Penn State.

And i don't GAF from where you get your joy. I didn't start a thread preaching to you. You started one preaching to us.
