There’s no way he lasts another season in the nfl after this year. I really think he could bring lasting stability to the program and win a championship within his first two years. Not to mention what his name at the helm would do for the LSU brand and recruiting. Go get him.

What would it do for the brand and recruiting? How about you tell us….. I’m wondering if we play an away game that he won’t ride back with the team and be in a bar… How’s that when a recruits parents ask that.

If it weren't for the emotional and personal issues we have seen in the past I would be in 100% on Urban Meyer. That being said, if he's available and has the desire to return to the college ranks, LSU should try to lure him here. The Tigers would quickly become a contender in the West.

Whoever they hire, it should be someone that is going to be here longer term. Who is going to have the best opportunity to step up and redirect the road to the championship through Baton Rouge? Meyer is not the only one who could do it, but you would feel pretty solid about his chances.

It's hard to argue with the idea that Urban could win a NC at LSU. It's also hard to think he would stay over five years.

You can make an argument for how him winning a couple NCs at LSU makes him the best coach in college football history. But does he have both the interest and the endurance to build like that? That's something I would be skeptical about.

I’m with you here. Who’s the better proven candidate short of Saban? And l believe that now that he’s been publicly embarrassed, he will shape up. At least long enough to bring a natty. I don’t know about long term stability, but I’ll take a solid foundation like Saban laid.
