He looked much improved this year!

Not to take away from the stat or how great of a season he had, but MLB players are striking out at the highest rate in baseball history. I'm honestly surprised it didn't happen for multiple pitchers this season.

I always loved gausman.
Just the way he can throw the heater.

But not "3" pitch strikeouts. Only pitchers with overpowering stuff do that.

I do not believe your stat and the OP's stat are equivalent. The fact that batters are striking out at a record high rate does not necessarily equate to a pitcher striking a batter out with 3 consecutive pitches. Based on the post, Gausman had the most 3 pitch strikeouts this season so regardless of the strikeout rate, he was the best. Nothing is taken away from Gausman.

More strikeouts league-wide means there's more opportunity for 3 pitch strikeouts is all I was saying

Ya I think it’s more about pounding the zone than overall strikeouts.
It means he’s got a wipeout pitch he’s getting over for a called strike or a swing and miss after two other zone pitches.

Agreed. That Scherzer guy seems pretty good.

Your point is a good one, but you are making it to an audience that is convinced that Brondo is good.
