How can Fickell tell LSU no?

Sorry, keep your 10 million dollar job, I really don’t want to uproot from Ohio in a profession I’ve worked all my life to succeed at and accept a top 5 job at a diehard football university. I rather sit back and wait for one of these lame arse big 10( whatever they called now) jobs to open.
I don’t get it.
Woodward, if you’re worth the money, you can sell the job.
Not just sell the job but sell the family and brotherhood that they obviously love and stay loyal to.

Would take Fickell in a heartbeat but if it’s true he’s anchored in Ohio like that we should leave him be. Dudes heart wouldn’t be in it. It would frick him and frick LSU too.

Fickell is not moving to the south. He may move one state east to Penn State, but LSU is not even a consideration for Fickell.

I think that Fickell would be your home run hire.
He was DC on 2014 team that won national title.
He has Cincinnati playing tough D with a bunch of 2 star recruits in an era where Power 5 teams barely play D.
He is as squeaky clean as any HC in the country.
He would kill it in recruiting.
He's the right mix of experience and youth.
Spent his entire life at OSU so he won't be intimidated by coaching LSU, but this would be his first P5 gig and chance to make his mark in coaching.
He would be dangerous at LSU.

421 miles from Cincy to State College PA.
I'm not sure he wants the PSU job and have to deal with Ohio State just to make it to the Big Ten Title game.

He has 6 kids. His oldest is in the 2021 class for Cincy. I don't think any of that is a hard no for him to relocate, but it's not a hard yes for him. Alot of moving parts.
