Then why didn’t we see every other university in the country have similar restrictions for their home games?
Either LSU is the only school in the SEC with sufficient legal foresight and acumen that every other school in the conference was too stupid to do this, or there was something at play other than protecting legal liability.
You’re right that this wasn’t about safety. You’re wrong that it was about protecting against legal liability. It was all about messaging. The administration just wanted their social class to know that they were one of the “good ones”. It was solely an attempt to influence the perception, pure and simple.
