Most people don’t understand this comment because they are too dumb to look at history. FDR created government jobs to give people employment. It was needed at the time because of the depression but between doing that and the biggest profit machine ever, WWII, we pulled out of the depression. LBJ and his great society were social experiments. Don’t get me started on social security.
The common theme in each of these presidents policy was government funded support for the poor. There is a healthy balance but both of these went to the extreme and had no end game in sight.

The government has no business paying for peoples shite. Family and charity can handle this just fine if the government gets the frick out of the way and stops stealing their money.

So, you're under the impression that the government can create wealth?
The Depression actually worsened under FDR in '37 & '38 because of his socialistic policies - something the American Education system doesn't like to cover.

One major problem with today is we virtually did a complete reversal, yes there are government programs to help the poor and we have people taking advantage of said programs but those costs are really nothing compared to what corporations and the ultra rich get from the government mostly thanks to lobbyists paying off said politicians and the media protecting them. People want to complain about “socialism” (which if we’re being honest of the government is taking my money anyway I rather it go to healthcare or back into the people’s hand anyway over a majority of other BS), but they don’t talk about the actual socialism for the rich aka us becoming an oligarchy

And started the idea that it is the government's job to feed people.
Behind the 16th Amendment, this may have done more damage than anyone could possibly realize at the time.

It has always been completely mind blowing to me that the government used to at least make a job for someone, something where there are hopefully at least A LITTLE productive for this country. Whether it be through helping build a hydroelectric dam or through digging a ditch.
Now we just skip all that and give them the money directly, forget the job part
How in THE frick does this make any sense UNLESS you just want to frick things up??

FDR did nothing for the economy, except enter into WWII.
The New Deal accomplished nothing of note, outside of giving socialists some sort of perceived precedent for ending private industry
