It sounds like our refrigerator is about to take flight at times due to how loud it is. According to the google machine it could be the compressor going bad. It's only 5 years old and with the prices i'm seeing i'd hate to have to buy a new one right now.
anyone have any luck getting theirs serviced? We have a tech coming out thursday to look at it.

Are you sure it's not ice building up in the back and what you hear is the fan (maybe you have twin fans?) hitting the ice every time it kicks on? The reason I ask that is because that is exactly the issue I had with mine. I had to defrost it entirely (took about a day), put a copper wire leading from the heating element down into the drain (as the drain was frozen over) and that fixed my issue.

We do have twin fans and i noticed a small piece of ice on the back wall last night so maybe that's the issue. I'll try and defrost it and see if that fixes it. Thanks for the info!!

it’s ice building up hitting the fan. Get a hair dryer Philips head screwdriver a towel and 2 beers YouTube. You can get some adhesive weather stripping and re seal that back panel to the refrigerator it’s condensation& crap design.
Raise your right hand and vow to never ever buy another Samsung product. Just melt the ice and dry it you will be good to go in under 1/2 hour.

Appliance MD out of Labadiville area has done repairs for me in the past. If the quick fix doesn't do the trick or the ice returns, look him up. Cool young dude with reasonable pricing.

I do a forced manual defrost on mine when I hear those kinds of noises. There are videos on YT for this. Seems to be working, a lot easier than taking the back panel off and defrosting with blow dryer.

There's also a class action lawsuit on those shitty fridges and the ice maker problems...good luck

I would suggest against this part. As a Samsung refrigerator owner you will be taking this thing apart again.
