The civil suits on the Baldwin shooting are going to be EPIC!

Were the people supposedly in charge the Keystone Cops? Talk about a cluster frick of epic proportions. This is some of the most stupid, dumbass shite I’ve ever read. This is incompetence at a truly legendary level.
I don’t know if anyone is going to be charged criminally but for sure some careers are about to be permanently ruined and over with.

I don’t understand why anyone would bring real ammo for a gun meant for a movie in the first place. Someone in Hollywood is going to be ruined over this, and rightfully so.

Meh…I won’t lose any sleep over it.

Not a Baldwin fan, but I can’t blame him for this.

A search warrant released Friday said that Gutierrez-Reed laid out three prop guns on a cart outside the filming location, and first assistant director Dave Halls grabbed the gun from the cart and brought it inside to Baldwin, unaware that it was loaded with live rounds.
'Cold gun!' shouted Halls before handing the gun to Baldwin, using the phrase to signal to cast and crew that the gun was safe to fire for the scene, the warrant said.
Seconds later, filming a scene inside an Old West-style church, Baldwin apparently aimed towards the camera and pulled the trigger, accidentally killing Hutchins as she filmed him, and injuring director Joel Souza, who stood behind her.

I hope it’s Baldwin himself. He not only pulled the trigger, but he’s the film’s producer, which means he’s ultimately responsible for everything that happens on that set.
Of course, he’ll skate because of who he is. Hollywood protects its own. Some lower tier person will be scapegoated.

Absolutely no way this wasnt on purpose.

And this is what happens when you have people who are never exposed to firearms and don’t really know what they’re doing dealing with firearms.

Why would it ever be loaded with live rounds on set?

Several layers of awful there.
As far as protocol breaks- having the live ammo, not clearing the gun, and having it pointed at a person (instead of at a mark or shielded person if required to be in the vicinity)… all this after two live discharge issues on set? Just awful.
I will say the armorer was right- she was not ready to hold the job and proved it more than once before the death.

Do these dumbasses not open a chamber and look every single time? The only thing wrong with guns is the dumbasses using them don’t know wtf they are doing.

So how long before we see the courtroom drama unfold? Bombshell testimony. Wild accusations and finger pointing.
With Baldwin not only starring but being a producer and the shite being said by crew members this probably isn’t going to end well for him.
And sadly because of his reputation he isn’t going to garner much sympathy. And the supporters and defenders he’s had in the past are going to be jumping ship in droves very soon as more details come out. This is going to be Scandal City.

My big question is why were live rounds anywhere near that set in the first place?
Brandon Lee, for instance, didn't die from a live round. It was from fragments left inside the gun being projected at him. The gun shot a dummy round but it still created enough force to make the stuff inside lethal.

Exactly.
Anybody with 30 seconds of firearms training knows to do this.

Who is responsible for the scene?

If accurate that this was the 3rd accidental live discharge on this set - the whole team involved deserves to be sued into oblivion and never be near a set or gun again.

It’s what’s known as a squib. An extremely rare occurrence. Had there been a live round behind it instead of a blank, the pistol would’ve exploded in the user’s hand.

No, there are hired experts in gun safety who are supposed to ensure (with redundancies) that by the time it gets to an AD, the AD doesn't have to check. What you don't want it putting that responsibility outside of that zone (like with an AD), which just increases the chance of a mistake.
