You know regardless of his stats or his play in the game, he will hit a few 3s and throw some good assists, and the media will be eviscerating the Pelicans for letting him go for nothing.
Just be ready for it.

Easiest way to counter that would be for NAW and Graham to have excellent games.
Which also happens to be the key to probably winning this game.

Id be fine if the only games we won this year were vs Chicago.
The other day got into it with Lonzo stans because they called him a "winning" player that the pels needed.

He'll probably have a good game tonight because he will be super motivated. He'll also probably shoot 5-26 combined the next 3 games.

Which is the reason he wasn't worth the price he wanted from the Pels. Chicago will find out soon enough lol

I’m not a Lonzo stan by any means, but…
Given the “return” we got for him, it probably would’ve been best to bring Lonzo back.
A backcourt with NAW, Lonzo, and Graham (shifting to 6th man) would be a solid backcourt.
I know we still have flexibility with the trade exception created as well as other tradeable contracts, but I’m not confident in the ability of Griff to get anything meaningful done to be completely honest.

It doesn’t seem like he wanted to come back, or that the Pels wanted him back. So, the whole notion of, ‘If that’s all you were gonna get in return you might as well have brought him back,’ seems shortsighted at best.

Lauri M also said he didn’t want to come back. Didn’t stop Chi from getting a first for him. Ball is a better prospect than him.
Griff played it stupid. Shoulda leaked we were matching any offer and let it play out. At worse we get him for a year on the QO.

He would’ve come back due to relationship with Zion and other Laker guys. It wasn’t his first preference, but he would have accepted it and we’d be a lot better off roster wise right now.
