Are trip to hunt in Africa discounted post-covid?

I’m not really in the know, curious if anyone here tracks prices and could give some insight on rough % you think day rate and harvest fees are discounted.
I’d like to go, but I think I have some unrealistic target species for what I could normally afford. Not necessarily in one trip: Kudu, Sable, Leopard, and Cape Buffalo.

Just a quick Google search to the one African safari place I know a buddy of mine has been a few times, and minus the Leopard you are at about 24k just in trophy fees. That's not flight, guide, daily, or shipping back.

Like I said my ambitions probably exceed my wallet. Thanks.

That seems astronomically high? Plains game was around $8k in Namibia 10-12 years ago when I was looking at it.

Fees were dramatically reduced this year as were flight costs. I made whole trip for $10k (incl taxidermy and shipping)
A leopard or the lion buff elephant =much bigger $$.
I took oryx, kudu, impala, zebra.

Plains game are pretty affordable, but Sable and Cape Buffalo are like 8k each from what I've seen.

Sable was $5k. May never be that low again

Some of the cost depends on the monetary exchange rate. But your money goes very far in South Africa. For about the same price as a guided elk hunt out west, you can do a 7 day safari in South Africa and take 4-5 animals. Getting there is a long haul, but the level of service you will receive is excellent.

Sorry for the hijack- I was lucky and won the DU auction for the safari for 2500. Includes 6 animals and 2 hunters and 2 non hunters. My only costs are flights and taxidermy that i know of. Any advice from those who’ve been.

Where is the hunt concession? What airport do you need to fly into? I would go easy on taxidermy. I brought home a Kudu and a Nyala. They look great, but that money would pay a deposit on another great trip. I am happy to help provide info. <--@yahoo.com

I keep debating on an African plains game trip vs an elk hunt. My main concern is the travel time.

What would you like to know? I've been 3 times
