I have said that I am not able to conduct such a search, but I like Aranda's approach to the game. I think Kiffin would attract top-flight offensive players. I know less about the other two. If one were convinced that Fickel really wanted to come to LSU long-term to build a championship program, I would consider him.

These 3 are intriguing.

Aranda- I'm not so worried about his record at Baylor right now; I think he has a very, VERY tightly conceived idea about what would excel in a program. Seems like a Saban reincarnation, but without (?) the desire to move to the NFL, that Saban had.

Kiffin- boy genius, with all the irresponsibility that implies; but I wonder if he's started to mature now. A couple of the interviews recently seem to indicate he has. I think he understands that he fricked up in the past, but a shot with LSU could restore all the potential he had a decade ago.
My worry would be that he DOES still harbor a desire to go back to the NFL eventually, and prove he can do it at that level.

Fickell- hard to get a good read on him. Is he the latest mid-major genius?

Fickell would be an excellent hire. There’s someone at the top of the list that has not yet told Woodward no. That’s either Fickell or Riley. Dabo and Fisher likely have already said no.
