I dont think riley would leave ou either, especially with them being only a short time away from competing in the sec.

People keep saying this but that's a simple minded point of view.

OU has compete with several other schools for the top kids in Texas. At LSU, Riley would have access to wealth of talented skill position players from Louisiana. Just look at what the state produces in terms of WRs & RBs.

Secondly, Riley would have better access & more depth on the defensive side of the ball something he currently has been unable to do at OU. That in itself is the biggest reason why OU is usually one & done in the CFP.

He can still pull in the type of QBs to run his offensive system at LSU just off his name alone.

The lack of talent & depth on defense will be magnified once Oklahoma enters the SEC.

Oklahoma has always recruited nationally and theyre very good at it. They land top classes loaded with talent and have for a long time. They are one of the top national brands in college football without question. Theyve been competing for and winning national titles for a long time too. Its not narrow minded to think riley is happy as head coach at OU, which is a top job in the nation, like it or not. Theyre a blue blood program and they have money, facilities, fan support, etc to compete with anyone. Sure, their defenses have been lacking in the past, but i believe its due to the type of ball thats played in the big 12 and them recruiting to a scheme to stop the pass heavy schemes they play in conference. That doesnt mean that frickin OU cant get ballers on defense, lol. They recruit very well and sure they recruit texas hard, but they have always recruited texas hard as well as nationally and havent had a problem going head to head with anyone in that regard. I dont see that magically changing all of a sudden. Texas has enough top notch players to go around regardless, which is why LSU recruits texas extremely hard as well. Not that OU (or LSU) picks up kids bc the others are already taken by texas schools, bc thats not the case. They (and LSU) out-recruit texas and AnM for recruits all the time. Theyre pretty much like a texas school with the heavy fan representation and alumni base they have there (especially in the DFW area). I would bet that riley aint leaving OU...for anyplace. Unless he gets some outrageous, mega- offer (which is what it would take to even possibly outbid oklahoma for him) or if he gets a shot in the nfl somewhere. I hope im wrong bc i would love riley at lsu, hell yeah, but i highly doubt it.

I want Riley bad. That being said, sports talk in Colorado is (and has been for the last two years), the Broncos may make a run at him. Fangio is almost assuredly done at the end of the year. Will the NFL give him a shout? I’m not sure, but the man has options.
