Its ok to admit that and actually healthy to do so. Just because everyone else is fatter than you, doesnt mean you arent fat.

Am I on the OT? This sounds like truth.

Again this thread is about prescription equipment for sleep apnea, not being obese or being fat.

You just have to get used to it. I quit wearing it after 2 weeks. Didn’t wear it again for 3 years.
Finally I forced myself to keep using it until I got used to it. Now I sleep like a baby. It’s amazing.

I have followed a lot of your posts on different boards. I had no idea until this week just how big of a douche you are. Also, if there's a way to develop self-awareness, go figure that out

OK, back on topic. Have any of you started having different type dreams with your worsening of sleep apnea? My are 10 x more bizarre than before, and usually involve solving some imagined problem that is not solvable.

Yep, lots of fat arse pilots and aircrew out there. I honestly can't think of one, overweight active duty person that I have helped over the last 20 years.

BTW, I'm a former corpsman. I don't know how it is now, but back in my day, you got discharged for repeatedly being over body fat standards.

See, this is where you go off the rails. I do this stuff everyday, for a living. You just have an opinion.

Yes. I have crazy dreams, mind starts racing, I’ll break out in a cold sweat and heart feels like it going to beat out of my chest.

Typically, severe sleep apnea retards your sleep so badly, that a person gets very little REM or stage 3/4 sleep. If you take a look at the Epworth test, there are questions concerning dreams.

The physiological effect of untreated sleep apnea results in a decreased heart rate and O2 sat. When you start breathing again, the body's response is to rapidly increase the heart rate. I've seen studies where a person's HR dropped into the 50s, O2 sats dropped below 85, they started breathing again and the HR jumped to over 130. Now imagine doing that 50 times an hour!

What is happening to you is, you got into deep stage sleep/REM where dreaming happens. Your sleep apnea kicks in, you wake up remember the dream and associate your heart rate with it.

I did a sleep study a few weeks ago and I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea with 30.8 events.

My cardiologist says when what you just described it’s like a fight or flight event.

Just got the call. I go in the 14th of next month for the next study they do. I sure hope they get a cancellation and I can get in sooner.

A friend who had his bite readjusted in the late 90's (in his 40's) has had it ever since. Nothing has worked for him.

LINK

first link....70% of those with OSA are obese.

and yea im being a douche about it, mainly when people are douches back.

in all seriousness, i told the OP that since he is getting much better sleep to take it as a new lease on life and to get in much better health overall.

but in the end my intention wasnt to try and attack anyone, it was more pointing out the hypocrits of the OP. So many on here, hell in this thread, shite on fat acceptance and then come on here and claim...im 5'10 225 or 6'1 250 and im not fat....it has nothing to do with my sleep apnea etc. shite gets old because both of those are obese and neither would look like "an aids patient" if they got to a healthy weight.

its the denial that puts them in the unhealthy situation they are in and all i was pointing out.

did i have a little fun being a dick...sure but its because some in this thread are sensitive.

I can say this I used to dream alot and remember them when I would awake. Now on the apap, I don't remember dreaming at all. Weird

From my understanding, like everything else, there’s a shortage and wait even on Cpap machines

again this was about prescribing apap/cpap machines and the experiences with them, how others who have apnea have adjusted with their "machine" adjusted etc.

I have an idea for ya. Go make a separate thread about "fat arse people" as you put it if you wanna people to realize what their actual health problem are. See what kinda response you looking for.

Tried on three masks last night. The nose only was comfortable, but I worried about my mouth opening. The partial(don't know what to call it) putt too much pressure on the nostril area. Settled on full mouth/nose.

I didn't move until sometime in the middle of the night when my nose started itching. Scratched a bit, then back to sleep. Never moved. Never went to the bathroom (usually 3 times). They woke me at 5:15. Feel like I could have slept a lot longer. Cannot wait to get set up at home.
