Isn't CF doing something similar with blue hydrogen or ammonia?

Yep. Ammonia.

But nothing on this scale.

I don’t think gas lift is permanent sequestration. It’s produced with well fluids and processed through a facility. I’ve designed artificial lift, but never actually followed the process through the facility.

Correct, it’s recycled throughout the EOR process.

It’s probably injected into all the abandoned and unplugged wells in the state.

Negative. Abandoned and unplugged wells don’t mix with sequestration or EOR. Must identify and plug them all before proceeding with a project.

The actual Convent refinery is in St. James Parish. The Administration Building, Centralized Control Room, Lab, and Tezcuco multi use facility are all in Ascension Parish. Unknown at this time which side of the line any expansion will be built on.

I’m torn on this. Are they converting methane or some other hydrocarbon feedstock?

There will be a SMR cracking natural gas to get the hydrogen and making ammonia.

AP does have many "off gas" facilities converting waste gas streams to pure H2 through cryogenic process and catalyst PSA's.

Yea, storing in salt caverns
No, they will not be sequestering CO2 in salt caverns. It will be permanently stored in depleted reservoirs. Hydrogen will be stored in salt caverns though
