Prospective coaches should be champing at the bit, to land the LSU job.

If you are on the short list for the upcoming LSU Head Football Coach opening, if they have any confidence in their own abilities “usually they all do in that alpha male arena” then they should be begging for this job for one simple reason.
If they look at our recent history and realize that our last two coaches. One buffoon all he wanted to do is run the ball 100x’s per game and eat grass like a jackass. And the other was straight off a shrimp boat that doesn’t have the mental aptitude to add 2 + 2 and get the correct answer the idiot is so dumb!
So any coach with any confidence should say to themselves; “if those two arse-clowns were each able to win a Natty at LSU, then they should be able to win 5 Naty’s”
That is seriously how they should look at this job, if someone with the complete and utter lack of intelligence can win a Natty at LSU, then almost any coach should be able to win one at LSU!

Prospective is the word you're going for.

Ed winning a NC in 3rd year opened the eyes to everyone.
Before, you had Coaches choose a name over day 1 success. Example: Tom Herman going to Texas…I get it, big name school.
But reality, Texas was in disarray and LSU only needed minor tweaks. Same could be said Today about LSU / USC.

Tiger Rant - where good phrases come to die
Foaming at the mouth - foaming at the mouth is an idiom people use to describe someone who is very angry
Chomping at the bit - waiting in an impatient way to do something

Had a customer with a problem that told me we were going to "sweep it under the bridge".

Absolutely! It showed that the strength may not be as much with the individual coaches as much as the program itself.
1 Championship? Of course. It was Saban, the best HC in the modern era of CFB.
2 Championships? Well, Miles was a solid HC at OSU prior to taking the LSU job. He was put in a good spot (post Saban) and truly flourished.
3 Championships (with three different HCs)? Ok, it appears to be the PROGRAM that is the common denominator. NO ONE in CFB would confuse O's football acumen with Saban's, and O's success prior to LSU was nil. Yet, he was able to win a title while fielding the most dominant of LSU's three championship teams.
Over the last 20 years...3 NCs...3 different coaches. NO other school in America can say that.
Prior to Orgeron you could argue that LSU was just fortunate to hit twice on two good coaches. But after O, it seems to be more probable that the LSU program is the "kingmaker". Perhaps like Miami in the 80's and 90's. Schenellenber laid the groundwork with a NC, then Johnson, Erickson and Butch Davis (it was his team who Coker won with) ALL won NCs.
If you are the AD you go to any HC you want and say "This program is a Ferrari. As long as you keep it on the road you are going to win the race sooner rather than later. It only falls apart when the owner neglects to properly take care of it. So, how would you like to sit a top college football soon?

So what you're saying is that LSU needs an oil change?

By this rationale, you ought to be able to win a national championship.

Two years and your fired. Yeah everyone will line up for that.

And it's "foaming at the mouth" or "champing at the bit". Not that I care, but my horse does.

and perhaps "chomping at the bit" would be the phrase?

Probably a little more than that. Maybe an overall tune up. There's still a V12 800 hp engine under the hood...the current owner just skipped the scheduled maintenance for the last two years.

There is no doubt a coaching change is necessary. But, O put together a coaching staff that coached us to a Perfect Season. Perfect and to many of his players he surrounded them with coaches that helped them win almost all of the post-season awards. So, show a little respect. He did what Saban didn't do. He did what Les couldn't do. He changed our offensive philosophy hopefully forever. So, please, let's have a little respect and maybe even be grateful. Without O, 2019 might not have happened.
