Jacques Doucet and other reporters need to pressure Orgeron harder into answering questions no matter how testy O gets. Coach O you’re paid $8.7 million, tell us how it got this bad. Did you hire the wrong assistants, did you recruit the wrong players? Did LSU hire the wrong coach?

If reporters can pressure O into blowing up , then he has to go now.

Woodward is the idiot who gave him that contract extension without any realistic performance measures

Specifically what "realistic performance measures" would you like to see in his contract?

Are you that dumb? Any realistic performance measures? Really?

How about in his contract, it happened to mention if he wins a natty, that he gets top money, similar to the average price of the the top 3-5 coaches! Its called a clause in your existing contract if his team performs, and I would call beating 6-7 teams ranked in the top 20 when they played them, winning the SEC, beating Bama, then the last 3 games, beating Georgia, Oklahoma and Clemson, and winning the National Championship...I would call those things great performances.

Just one really, that should have been included by Woodward,. If LSU has back to back losing seasons, Orgeron may or may not be fired but the buyout is null and void.

He has no clue how 2019 happened. He has no idea how to fix what he doesn’t know.

Yes. Again. Making his coordinator hires the only record worse than his win loss record post 2019.

did you recruit the wrong players?
Yes. Of all the studs, how many offensive lineman are apart of his recruiting classes?
quote:

Did LSU hire the wrong coach?
Yes they did. Thanks the memories of 2019, however much or little he had to do with it, and have a nice life.

There u go. I did the medias work for them. Even got honest replies, and not canned coach speak bullshite.

lol...this take is so silly. We all know what the performance measure are, as talk of letting him go started last year. This year is obvious.

Also, you people that bash Scott on the extension are just foolish. You have the history of knowing the future and how it all would play out. There was zero thought, by anyone, we would be where we are now on January 14, 2020.

Agree.

After the natty I didn't think the wheels would come off immediately. I thought I was wrong about O.

A) No coach would ever sign that, so you could kiss your great coaches goodbye

B) We didn’t have a losing season last year, so what you’ve proposed changes nothing.

The REALITY off this board is that Woodward offered what any AD would after 2019. Period. The contract was big, but didn’t have any glaring inclusions or omissions.

contract extensions are to show the coach that there's a commitment to him -- to keep him from leaving.

O was at ZERO risk to leave, even after 2019.

No extension or raise was needed. Besides, even with the NC, the model of O as CEO and getting paid less than the market rate, was still in place.

The raise and extension was completely unnecessary and a horrible decision by Woodward.

Maybe not at Ole Miss or Arkansas but elite schools like ND, Alabama, and yes LSU should have that part included in the contract.

For Saban type of money , Saban like standards-contending for Sec championships every year

Saban doesn’t have an SEC Championship contention requirement in his contract. He’s got bonus incentives for performance which is exactly what Ed has.

Jesus people.

Woodward should have known the ceo role O played and that he relies on his OC/DC-pay the OC/DC top dollar

I’m so glad none of you will ever be a decision maker at LSU.

I know we have crayons that aren’t as bright as others, but damn — some of the stupid things being posted here is really staggering.

Exactly. Orgeron is a different hire from say Kirby, Saban or even Leach, He has to have high quality hires on both sides of the ball. You guy a guy &8.7 million but still have to babysit him, help him get the right hires. Their individuals who very needy, O is one of those guys, not Saban or Mullen or Kirby
