SW Pilots, ATCs, Truckers, Cops, and Kyrie Irving Fighting the Mandate Fight
Posted on 10/11/21 at 7:41 am

SW Pilots and ATC essentially shutdown a bunch of travel this weekend and were in turn labeled domestic terrorists (
). LA Police Chief says he is NOT enforcing the mandate and Seattle is about to fire 40% of their already depleted police staff. The truckers sounds to be the next domino to fall. Then we have Kyrie putting it out on the sports stage and the other players seem to have his back even though the NBA and owners seem not to.
Let’s Go Brandon! Your move!

Looks like I’m about to stock up on seeds and fertilizer then. What pisses me off so much is that everything we all predicted before the election is occurring now that Biden is president.
frick him and frick everyone who voted for him.

There is plenty of chatter about it on the interwebs. Limited items on the shelves at stores may mean it’s already happening but for some reason our media isn’t covering it.

Props to Kyrie, but they are going to do the Lebron thing and give him a fake card.
The only plus is that Kyrie isn't a LeBron level sellout, so he might not play ball with that lie.

That can also be a result of the container ship cluster...
Just looking for solid info that truckers will walk. shite will hit the fan with the quickness.

If that was the case, he would have already done it. If he does it now then he will be perceived as a sellout. He theoretically already has FU money so missing games (still not clear if he will be docked pay) may not be a big deal at all compared to the notoriety he is getting.

I know only one trucker personally. He delivers various loads all over the eastern half of the country for a large trucking company. We had a conversation yesterday about this and he said he will park the truck before he gets the jab.

Right now, limited supplies can be for several reasons including an inability to offload from ships or normal supply chain problems for a particular company.
For example, the Walmart by me has to be one of the most piss poor ones in the company from a logistics perspective because most things are constantly out of stock and this has been a chronic problem for years.
Once everyone starts being out of everything in short order? THEN we are definitely in a trucker strike / slowdown.

Interestingly there are a few stories out there saying why a trucker strike “won’t work”. I guess we will see.

Kyrie has been out there for years to say the least.
I think he is nuts but he is unafraid to take public positions like flat-earth that most people make fun of.
I honestly think he holds out and, given the statements of the NBAPA, they will support him. The Collective Bargaining Agreement covered league-player issues, NOT states or municipalities putting rules on the players. If NYC refuses to let Kyrie play at home, the NBAPA says the NBA can’t fine him.

Won't work how?
They are the life blood of the supply chain. Look what the shipping containers in Cali has done and that is 90% hardgoods/Softgoods. If truckers across the nation strike, the food supply comes to a grinding halt.

does anyone other than me think this is by design? i can see the military taking over these tasks. and guess who is in charge of the military...

You really only need 1 group of truckers to shut down, the ones who haul the fuel to the truck stops. They are the ones who can shut it all down.

Theoretically, it requires truckers to be on the same page and not undercut each other for their own benefits.
Flip side to that is that there are a low number of truckers right now in part because certain shipping companies made these guys buy their own trucks in questionable terms and handled things in a way to where these guys ended up going bust and being personally ruined over it.
IOW, there is a low number of truckers right now thanks in part to shitty companies, so replacing them on short notice becomes a huge issue. Especially if they have any clearances above a normal Commercial Driving License, like hazardous waste, that take time and money to obtain.
There are factors going both ways in the ability to do such a strike as well as potential ways for organizations to counter it.

Do you think the military has anywhere close to enough truck drivers to supply this country? Maybe 1 large city, maybe.

Yep.
This is a country of 350+ million people and has some of the largest land area in the world behind only Russia and Canada IIRC.
Lotta real estate, lotta people, and the military is not built to do any sort of long term logistics for wide areas.
This also assumes there isn’t some sort of issue like a hurricane or other natural disaster where FEMA et all need all hands on deck.
If FEMA gets deployed to North Carolina, Los Angeles is kinda fricked if they needed the military.
