Oh I forgot, mediocre storyline with twist.
I think this is more people just getting bored with the typical Ubisoft "open world" set up.

Far Cry is one of those games I won't seek out and buy, but if my wife got it for me for christmas for some odd reason, I wouldn't be upset

I would rather replay 3. The last one wasn't that fun either. They can't think of anything new. Hell, they are still using the animal mechanic from Primal. Boring.

I have the exact same feeling on it. Played the last one and recognize it's a pretty good game, but it just doesn't hold my attention.

I bought it, but I enjoy the series. 5 wasn’t as fun to me as 4, but this one looks pretty good. I buy games I enjoy playing. I’m not too worried about reviews or what the critics think unless it’s just terrible.

Anyone who buys an ubisoft game at launch is a fool. Wait a year and get base game plus all dlc for $15.

I am personally just so disillusioned and plain meh to any Ubisoft product because they’re all the exact same thing with random various shades of paint in places. The company needs a 100% creativity overhaul from top to bottom. What’s hilarious is Ghost of Tsushima has shown how to execute a game like they mass produced flawlessly

Last one I bought was Primal. It was fun.
In one section far to the North of the map I happened across a lovely couple going at it doggystyle.

I haven't played AC Valhalla, but Odyssey and Origins were fantastic games. The historical museum-type mode is just amazing.
If this game is like those games, then I'm really not sure how anyone could complain.

If this is your first Far Cry game then you will probably enjoy it. The reason why others are complaining is the gameplay has not really changed much since FC3. And after playing so many Ubisoft open world series(Assaassins Creed, Far Cry, Watchdogs, the recent Ghost Recon entries) they start to feel formulaic.
