On his coaches show on WWL radio Monday night, Sean Payton said that Taysom Hill stubbed his plant foot in the turf while striding to make his deep throw to Deonte Harris, resulting in the bad underthrow and INT.

I expect more deep passes from him in the future since it was just a stubbed foot that prevented a 60 yard rocket down the field.

Well zombie, if you watch the replay, it is very clear he does like a double step/misstep on the leading plant foot.

It was a mistake which led to a bad throw. Taysom has shown arm strength to be able to make 40-50 yard throws.

I’m sure you definitely wouldn’t have started another thread had Jameis thrown that duck

Just makes no sense why you wouldn’t have Jameis throw that ball considering he made the throw the play before for a TD that was negated by a penalty. Just play Taysom at halfback and stop with this cute play calling that fools nobody

Jameis has thrown many poor passes. My goal isn't to sit here and take my anger out on Jameis because of my love for Taysom.

The defense plays differently with Taysom in the game. To say it makes no sense is an overreaction, imo. Harris was open. Taysom made a bad throw. Now whether Payton should have stuck with Jameis while he was playing very well is another issue.

The Taysom package has been very effective two weeks in a row now. Sucks that he missed the throw, but I like what that has brought to the offense. When Jameis is playing like he was playing though, probably should have stuck with the hot hand.

Maybe it was bad footing this time.
I agree he has a strong arm, But he always seems to wait a beat too long to throw it, resulting in underthrown balls.

Exactly, and why should we expect our TE to have good footwork at QB? Taysom gets a pass on the bad throw.

just a stubbed foot

And he waited about 2 seconds too long to throw the ball like he always does

Oh

Thank for the expert analysis

Why did he make a bad throw?

Because he is not an NFL QB

But you can expect many more of Hill’s passing

Because Sean Payton’s ego will want to prove everybody wrong.

Where was that cute smirk of Payton’s after the game?

That was really the point of my post. Maddening to take the ball out of the player with the hot hand.

I’m still not sure that deep ball to sanders last year wasn’t a punt

Lol. Sure, he CAN throw a deep ball.

But they are underthrown ALOT. Some leading to INTs. Some leading to WRs bailing him out.

But let’s be serious here. He can throw a deep ball but with poor accuracy. Even when he doesn’t “stub his toe”

Lol. This is laughable that people are defending his deep throwing.
