Max post-game presser

It’s pretty telling that Max is not happy with his OC and the play calling. He didn’t back down from owning up to his bad throws, but he called out his OC multiple times (calling plays for Boutte, need to get the running game figured out, changing play calls, etc.). It’s not common for a QB to be so matter of fact calling out their OC like that. Is that how you guys interpreted his presser?

Sounded like he was pissed and he should be.

I didn't need a press conference to see his frustration. He's always waving his hands imploring the coaching staff to hurry up its play calling. It's been every game this season.

I agree. That can be written off as “in the moment” frustration. To have very short, matter of fact responses to media questions is on another level. That’s calculated.

It's things like this that make it more likely Ed gets shitcanned before the end of the season. You can't let these kids continue to wallow under such piss poor leadership.

Max should direct his ire toward Edward Orgeron.

He probably passer too that Russ Calloway didn’t get the job and that’s his boy.

If you have a young QB that's trying to get acclimated the OC has to be able to give him plays that build his confidence and at least get them there ON TIME.
Peetz can't help develop Max because he's still trying to figure out how to do the basics of his job.
Max had a connection with Callaway and I really wanted him promoted up after 2020. If not OC, then PGC. Apparently O screwed him over and now he's gone.

Calloway had a solid relationship with Max—-and with Nuessmier. Too bad it didn’t go the way it was supposed to go.

The players and coaching staff really liked Calloway’s coaching style! I was thumbs down on Peetz.

Sucks for Max that he can't focus on his own poor pocket presence and continuously running himself into sacks. Or, his defense's inability to tackle a below average QB.
Either of those things are things that he and his teammates could've done in their own to win the game.
The coaches suck and deserve a ton of blame. But, Max didn't help by missing passes and moving himself into pressure all game long.

He sounded defeated and upset
But for him to be a son of a NFL qb superbowl champ at that, his mechanics are awful its really depressing to see him constantly throwing off back foot or when he actually has a clean pocket (obviously its not often) he takes off.
Hes just a very good qb and he struggles with mid to long range passes which sucks we were spoiled by burrow

2.) maybe if his OC could get him a play on time he could set protections and attack a defense.

I feel bad for the guy! Max really is a top notch QB, but he needs a competent OC to call the plays. I would feel very discouraged. Peetz is making him look bad!

He should just audible whenever he feels like it. Peetz is a complete coaching fraud. Nothing but another scam on LSU.

I understand his frustration. When we go tempo is when we have our most success, Johnson and the receivers get into a rhythm and don't have to think so much, just make plays and react more to what the defense is doing. It's hard to sustain any momentum when you're constantly waiting on the playcall and then don't have any time to make pre-snap reads when it finally does come in, or having to waste valuable timeouts to avoid penalties. There's no reason for Johnson to not receive the call until the play clock is at single digits, and a lot of that is on Peetz being in over his head, and ultimately that situation is on O for giving such an inexperienced playcaller the keys to the offense.
Just a disaster all around

I'd like to hear what Brad Johnson has to say about all of this. Frick he could come in and be a better coach than our entire offensive staff
