this place is going to explode in the next month when we go 1-3 or 0-4 in October. I am not wishing for that or want that but I am being realistic about the meat of our schedule coming up and what other teams look like in comparison.

But their defensive front is good while the LSU offensive line is bad. Like very bad.

Last week Tucker Gregg of Ga St had 12 carries for 150yds. Overall Ga St ran for 267 yards. Maybe this is the week the run game gets better. Goodwin is getting healthy and we are getting a little more continuity on the OL.

Georgia State was a classic sandwich game for Auburn, who shut down Penn State's running game the previous week. The only thing to take from GA State is that Bo Nix still sucks.

Well one way or another you will be happy at the end of this game.

the Georgia State game is just one data point. Auburn was bound to have an emotional letdown after the Penn State game, but they really didn't show up against GSU until late.

Auburn looked quite good against Penn State on the road in a very tough environment.

They'll be ready, and give us a close game.

I can't wait to watch the Finley return to Tiger Stadium, if he starts.

unfortunately I think you're correct.

We could sneak by Auburn and KY and be 5-1 (I don't think that will happen, but it's possible). But then we face FL, Ole Miss, Bama, Arky, ULM, and A&M.

Every one of those games (except ULM) is losable.

I think 6-6 or 7-5 is where it will end up.

Penn St ran for 80 yards vs Villanova and 50 vs Wisconsin. The only game they ran well was against Ball St and even then Nolan Cain only averaged 3.5ypc.

I'm not convinced Penn St is that good either. If Indiana's QB Pennix can avoid making costly mistakes the Hoosiers will give Penn St a tough game Saturday. They outplayed Cincy last week, but made a late turnover that put the game away.

If LSU starts out 4-1 then potentially 5-1 with 75 scholarship players (of which about six are hurt including your best player) with two, green coordinators….I think that’s a remarkable coaching job. Regardless of if they lose a few more to much more talented and deeper teams.

Auburn sucks
Kentucky is very overrated

So we just get free passes for FL and Ole Miss this year? Nice!

Auburn hung with a good Penn State team but lost at the end. They were not motivated against GA State.
This weekend will be different.
Hoping for a classic!

But the question is how good is Penn state?

if you want to buy advanced stats this early in the year....they might be very good, good enough to make the playoff.

so you're fine with a 7-5 season, where we beat bad teams and lose to the better ones??

Beating bad teams should be a given for a team like LSU.

It's how we do against the top dogs in the SEC that really matters.

I have no interest in declaring a remarkable coaching job for a 7-5 season, following a 5-5 season.

Good lord, that's pathetic.
