I agree with you in theory but I'd give them $1 Million a year but dock them $10,000 for every hour they spend 'working'

I'd also mandate that they play 18 holes before actually doing any work whatsoever

I'd rather see taxpayer money go to a bounty system. Anyone who finds pay for play or kickbacks and can provide the evidence gets 25% of the findings. The cheeters lose all pensions, voting rights, positions/seats, and must pay back all money grifted from the taxpayer. This includes both sides. Any corp, agency, or org loses liason & lobbying rights for 6 years. Any country loses all federal aid for 10 years.

I’d just settle for term limits.

They make much more than a million a year. Their currency just happens to be favors.

The Ibrahim Prize is an interesting concept. Lead your country well and leave at the end of your term. Walk away with $5.0MM.

I wish a billionaire here would make a similar offer. Term limit yourself, and walk away with a couple million. If you overstay, then you get nothing.

If it meant getting rid of some of the idiots, then I’d support a taxpayer funded program.

Why would Congress critters take a pay cut?

Believe me, they make plenty more from the green lobby.

That would be dropping a dollar to pick up a dime for them.
