New neighbor. Fricked up story.

Sorry for being a downer, but damn, having a hard time wrapping my head around this one.
As of 2 weeks ago I have a new neighbor. She’s a single white mom with her black son and 2 black nephews. She has her 2 nephews due to the fact that her sister and sister’s boyfriend are pieces of shite. One of the nephews used to have a twin until the boyfriend beat the shite out of him and killed him a year ago. The twin nephew that is alive was in a half body cast for 6 months due to the beatings he received. The twins were one year old at the time. Luckily the older nephew was living with his grandmother at the time so he avoided any abuse. The sister and the boyfriend are in jail in Maryland or Michigan (not clear) awaiting trial.
The mom/custodian works for the IRS and seems pretty well grounded. I feel such pain and sympathy for this family and I am hoping my wife and I can help them out whenever we can. Such as sad situation, but at least they all seem pretty happy at this point in time. The nephews are now 2 and 11.
On a lighter note, her 15 year old son is named Seven. Seriously! George would be so proud!

Show them a great example of a man.
