Why? Why wouldn’t you hold onto it until the next storm? We do live in south LA, hurricanes aren’t uncommon.

Because your Home Depot card is going to eventually have to be paid.

I’ve always wondered the same thing... I’d rather not have to scramble around last minute trying to get the things I need.

because fema saw the reciept for buying it and gave people a check to cover it, they did it with chainsaws as well, all completely free from fema but, then you go return it and get a refund and you just got a free $800-$900 from fema

the idiots at the store shouldnt be taking them back since putting oil and gas in it voids the warranty

People are idiots.

When the next hurricane hits, they’ll all scramble for supplies again.

It is easier to just be prepared.

Broke people returning them since they didn't use them they can get that money back

also a lot of people were buying generators 2+ days after the storm, that was when a lot of people were getting their power back

my thoughts are, always be prepared, you can always be far ahead of everyone else and these storms will be a lot less stressful

Sounds like the government paid for most of them.

They can buy you another one for the next storm.
