I haven't seen Yellowstone, but it would only apply in my mind to crimes committed solely in that area that must be tried before a jury, that weren't planned elsewhere or other related crimes committed outside of the area.

If you planned or committed other related crimes outside of the area, they could try you where the crimes were planned or other crimes committed.

I'm assuming that this is the area in the tv show "Yellowstone" where they dump their bodies off the cliff.

He took her to the train station.

Don't really know what to think after watching that. The guy seems to be pretty calm and reasonable and the girl seems off the rails a bit.

Listening to her talk in the first few minutes of that interaction with the cop is pretty telling. Seems like a pretty rocky relationship.

Says shes stressed, just quit here job as a nutritionist, trying to start a blog of her traveling across the country, bf dosent believe she can do it. Apologizing to bf because she is was in a bad mood and hitting him so obv there was tension. All in the first 5 minutes.

After watching some of that, the boyfriend seems a little off mentally. She seems a little unstable too for sure.
You could tell he was lying in how the physical fight went down. No doubt in my mind he dumped her somewhere after watching that. He flat out said he tried to lock her out

First issue: she doesn't have "OCD"

Second: she definitely has some major anxiety issues.

Third: she admits to hitting him and basically confirms his statement that she grabbed the wheel and was being physical with him

Fourth: these cops were SUPER professional

I only went about 15 min in but the gist was clear.

This post is a great example of how people mold reality into their preconceived beliefs

Anyone as basic as her documenting her life in staged photos on social media is crazy, social media is a cancer

He may not have killed her but he definitely left her for dead...after watching the first 15 min I have a feeling he cracked and just kicked her out and locked the door and rolled out..

Or he pushed her off a cliff.....literally.

That is my first thought as well, and I think they would do what they did with the poacher and just try it in Wyoming.

Then say "plea or go through appeals" and see what the 10th and SpCrt would do.

It's very possible. I'm not trying to shame a possibly dead person but she had MAJOR issues and clearly could create an escalated, physical situation due to those issues. When those happen, all sorts of things can result.

Or she hit him while on a dangerous hill/cliff and fell and he's like "well I am fricked" and left.

Agreed. It's an interesting thought experiment, but that's about it.

The wiki link to the "Death Zone" mentions the following, which I find interesting:

quote:

a poacher named Michael Belderrain illegally shot an elk in the Montana section of Yellowstone. While that section of the park does have enough residents to form a jury, it might be difficult to put together a standing and fair one due to travel or unwillingness of members of the small population there to serve. A federal judge ruled that Belderrain could be tried in the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming, despite the Sixth Amendment problem. Belderrain cited Kalt's paper "The Perfect Crime" to explain why he believed it was illegal to have his trial with a jury from a state other than where the crime was committed. The court dismissed this argument.[12] Belderrain took a plea deal conditioned on him not appealing the Zone of Death issue to the 10th Circuit, rendering the issue moot, at least for the time being.[

Assuming this requires a four year degree and that she’s only 22, she probably quit her first job a few months into it. Pretty big red flag

I feel like if a murder like this happened there, it would push Congress to act and attempt to make it retroactive.
