Nuss isn’t ready yet, but he will be a good LSU QB in a year or two.

I saw a lot of things from Nuss that we should be excited about. He has confidence and looks very comfortable moving around. He makes these accurate throws look easy. He threw a lot of passes into double coverage. Even when throwing into double coverage his throws were right on his receiver. His decision making isn’t great right now but that is something that he will improve upon with time. He’s not ready to play as a freshman yet but I think given a year or two he will be a really good QB for us. Looking forward to seeing this kid play in another year or so.

He's got more upside than Max. He's also a playmaker.

I would take him 100 times out of 100 over Johnson right now. His composure in the pocket looked a billion times better than Max. Yes I know it’s Mcneese but Johnson looked terrified in the pocket tonight.

Finley and Nuss would both be good under a decent coaching staff

He’s 172lbs. That O line will end his career

In most cases yes. At LSU you simply can’t assume that.

Yeah this is a good point. We don’t want to destroy his confidence playing behind our O line in the SEC this year.

The greatest thing Nuss did was work through his progressions. Max stares the direction he is going. If it’s not there he usually tucks and runs

Finley would get fricked up in this offense with his concrete feet.

Why is this? I see freshman QB’s all over college football that are ready to play and playing really well.

So we just don’t play the QB that gives us the best chance to win? I see freshman QBs playing all the time

Freshman QBs much heavier than him. And he didn’t show anything that “gives us the best chance to win”. He was 3/10 for 19 yards.

Had he thrown for 275 and 3 scores you would have an argument. Let’s not forget the spring game where he threw nothing but interceptions.

UCLA would have snapped him in half. Alabama would put him in a coma

If it takes him a year or two, Howard may pass him.

No he isn't. He got good wheels, and energy. Decision making was horrible. It was his first action so you continue to work with him but no... what was shown last night isn't going to work.

Looks like he MIGHT have some ability, decision making was poor, he has mobility for sure, and he needs to calm down a tad.

See how he does next week... I like his energy just not necessarily his decision making.

Time.

That was his high school weight. He’s about 190 now. The way this OL is playing, I’m not sure a QB of any weight is safe when SEC play starts.

That’s his LSU weight. They also showed it during the game last night

Looks like they updated the roster to 190 on the LSU website, but I remember when Myles Brennan was “205” his sophomore year.
