As the topic title says....if you could change NFL Football.....during play or overtime rules....how would it look different? More like college? I for one would like to see the NFL shadow college football overtime...but that's just me.What say you?

Can't call a timeout with less than 10 seconds on the play clock. I hate the bailout timeouts in football to avoid a delay of game, and in basketball when trying to beat the 5 second inbounding count. If you screw up, you should be penalized.
I'd get rid of timeouts in all sports and in football just give each team 3 clock stoppages a half to force the players to make more decisions, coaches are able to micro-manage enough as it is, and to allow teams with momentum to keep pressing the issue.

Touche....I'm not a fan of the two minute warning either. It sucks.

Back to playing a full fifteen minutes of overtime. Also you have to give the pass rush either the quarterback's head or his knees. I don't care which one but you have to give them something legal to hit either on the high side or low side. You can't have the strike zone that baseball has.

reward defense in the case of qb intentionally grounding.
throwing at someone's feet but short is grounding. it's not a real attempt to complete. same with tossing in general direction of the initial down marker but really out of bounds.

if you break the shoulder or collarbone of qb you sit out rest of game and next game.
a lot of linemen go for the broken shoulder after they already wrapped up the tackle.
bring that practice to an end.
for recent reference
that was attempted by ucla vs lsu starter.

Arena Football overtime - basically same as current overtime rules, but each team is guaranteed a possession. If tied after that, reverts to sudden death. So basically remove the "TD on first possession wins the game" aspect of the current setup.

College overtime sucks arse

Definitely OT rules. Each get the ball at opposing team 25. 2nd team that scores TD, has to go for 2. Done deal. No one can complain about not getting the ball.
10 yard penalty for anyone begging for a flag. Tired of seeing players asking for a flag every other play.

Wider hashmarks - let the pro kickers deal with the more difficult angles of college.

Go back to sudden death in overtime.

Any social justice posturing gets you 15 yards and disqualification

Pass interference calls are not spot calls.
But mainly defensive vs offensive calls.
If you're 3rd and 20 and I commit a hands to the face, holding, etc it's not an automatic 1st down. One mistake essentially gifted you new life, yet you holding me from sacking your qb for 15 yard loss and a loss of down only costs you 10 yards. I never understood that inequity.

SEC on CBS is the worst at the this. PAT commercial, kickoff, commercial.

1. No more ties.
2. Do OT like CFB.
3. Only 1 foot needed for a catch.
4. No 2 minute warning.

Or do like hockey used to do (they might still have it in the rulebook but it has been years since I've seen it called ) where you call embellishing on whoever is trying to sell a penalty.

Liberal pass interference rules have made NFL a drag.

Get rid of the nonsense fumble out of the end zone rule
Let DBs play a little bit more. They have one of the toughest jobs in pro sports and rules keep making their job tougher
