I have a Garmin, which I use as a sports type watch but last month bought a DeTomaso, yes the watch, not the car (Pantera). But the thought of blasting down I-10 in a Pantera with my DeTomaso watch does sound like a nice idea!

Loving the watch fans in these threads.
Obtuse1 definitely knows his way around a few of these brands.

waitlisted for the VC Overseas
Awesome watch. I visited the VC boutique in Miami and since it was during COVID you had to call ahead of time and make an appointment just to get in. The guy on the phone asked if I wanted to see anything in particular and when I told him I was just looking he pushed for more specifics. I told him if he had an Overseas in the store I'd like to see it, but otherwise I was just browsing. He laughed and said "we don't have any overseas. I'm happy to order one for you or show you any other watch"

I was at the boutique and they actually had one in stock waiting for someone. They spent over an hour with me, letting me try it on, take pictures etc. it’s a beautiful watch, he said to expect a 3-4 year wait though.

What’s the best location in New Orleans to look for a used high end watch?

A Navy SEAL’s Rolex Sub On Operation Neptune Spear (Link In Bio)
Over the past decade, just about every detail of the SEAL raid that brought the man responsible for 9/11 to justice, has been recounted. But one detail we all missed is the Rolex Submariner on the wrist of one of the operators. This detail surprised us here at W.O.E. Why was it worn on this raid? Was it for Escape and Evasion- a potential bartering tool? Was it chosen for its robustness as a mechanical timepiece?
The answer is actually simple–but far more profound. The SEAL wearing the Sub, Will Chesney, believed he was going to die that night in Pakistan. Chesney reasoned that he might as well take his most meaningful watch with him for his final ride. He bluntly told W.O.E. that, “the watch would burn up with me.” (Continue reading link in bio)
It was a late 2000s no-date reference 14060, the last classic Submariner. Chesney acquired the Rolex as a present to himself when he passed screening for Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU) in 2008. During a visit to the Command’s armorer, Chesney laser engraved the caseback with the “Red Man'' insignia of the famed Red Squadron, the same patch on Cairo’s harness.
Please check out Chesney’s book, No Ordinary Dog, a powerful read that explores the genuine emotional bond between a warrior and his military working dog. As Chesney summarizes, “Cairo was my dog. And I was his dad. I don’t use that term euphemistically. The relationship between a handler and a canine SEAL is profound and intimate. It goes well beyond friendship and the usual ties that bind man to dog.” The book also explores both Chesney’s and Cairo’s difficulties transitioning from years of sustained combat.
Thank you for sharing part of your story Will. @willcheeese

If you're looking to expand your collection or just get into watches without breaking the bank, one practical approach is to start with affordable yet stylish pieces that offer a lot of value for their price. Brands like Seiko and Citizen offer great options that won't disappoint in terms of quality and design. These watches are durable, versatile, and respected among watch enthusiasts.
That being said, I recently stumbled upon a site that offers some pretty impressive replicas, including brands like Tag Heuer. While I know replicas can be a controversial topic, sometimes they're a smart choice, especially if you're just starting out or if you can't justify spending thousands on a single watch. I bought a replica myself and couldn't be happier with it—it's a solid way to enjoy the aesthetics and feel of a high-end watch without the hefty price tag. So, if you're still on the fence about expanding your collection, maybe consider exploring a Tag Heuer replica as a way to add some luxury to your lineup without going overboard. So check out here https://www.perfectreplicawatch.is/product-category/brands/tag-heuer/
