Think of it this way. What if instead of Covid, all these people were telling you to be afraid of Vampires. We needed to close businesses and wear garlic around our necks to prevent attacks! But, you started noticing that these same people were going to places you were told were unsafe, and they also rarely had any garlic around their necks. Now, one of two things ought to occur to you. Either A) they're tempting fate and actually want to become a vampire or B) they do not give a single solitary frick about vampires personally and are still trying to keep you afraid.

This is theier playbook. They use their liberal friends in the private sector to do their dirtywork. That way, they don't look like the dictators that they truly are. The beautiful thing about this country is that the states have the final say in these matters. The federal governmanet is supposed to be there to settle disputes between the states. They aren't there to rule and pass down mandates that we blindly have to follow. Red states will simply pass legialation to ignore or block the mandates. Blue states, I'm sorry. You're kinda hosed on this.
