That's pretty stupid actually. Most everyone in the country has had someone close to them with covid....so yeah, most have encountered covid. However, encountering a covid patient does not in any way make you smart about covid, etc. In fact, I know some in the medical field that strongly suggest being treated outside the hospital.

It’s remarkable to me that despite convincing themselves of the superiority of the laity with respect to medical science, not one person in this thread is ever going to go to their plumber for chest pain or their car mechanic for a compound fracture. And when their O2 drops to 82% despite all the ivermectin, zinc and vitamin c they can take, they aren’t going to continue going back to their naturopath or unorthodox outpatient family med doc who gave them all those meds. They’re going to go seek mainstream medical care from the idiots in bed with pharma like everyone else.

No they will maintain their relationship with the doctor who thinks for their self and alter treatment to try to cure the patient.
All these dumb fricks that will not at least try ivermectin, hydroxy and other drugs and regimens knowing damn well the drugs do work at a high percentage rate (just as good as the damn vaccines) will still be scratching their asses while their patients die on a vent and alone.
Nothing with this virus is a 100%, this we know. So try any damn thing but start it early. Frig the politics, your damn egos or any other reason. Treat the patients early with all meds available.

Is it your contention that EVERY MEDICAL DOCTOR in the country is more knowledgeable than ANY PLANT WORKER in the country ?
That ALL DOCTORS are incredibly intelligent, competent people who are infallible compared to your average, lowly plant worker?

Every physician knows more about their field of expertise than every non-physician, yes.
Are their non-physicians who know more about cardiology than me? I’m sure there are. Are there non-physicians who know more about infectious diseases and the clinical manifestations of COVID19 than me, especially in this thread? I very much doubt it.
