ATV Winch Set Up

Either one should be fine, make sure to run power cable heavy enough to carry the winch.

Have a Badlands 9000 on the Jeep. Works like a charm.

Wouldn’t hesitate to buy another if needed.

I would save and spend the money for a warn or superwinch. You can get Superwinches on sales at times. I would also suggest a Stongmade winch plate.

You don't need 3500# for an atv. Going with a 2500 will save you a little $

Don't do that. Just get a Super ATV setup

That bike weighs 700lbs stock. I would get the 3500.

For what it is worth, I have a Honda Rubicon with a 2500# Superwinch Terra series. These are designed for use with synthetic rope. The brake is not in the drum so there is not risk of cooking your rope like with other winches. I hunt some hell holes and winching 4 times a hunt is not uncommon therefore heat is a big issue for me. This which has held up to that tremendously well over the last six years. I have never seen a lack of power even with 100# of corn on the front and enough wood in back to slightly bend the rack mounts. I had to winch 7 times to get that load out. My bike weighs a little over 700 pounds the way it is set up. Not trying to get you to buy a 2500. Just sharing my experience in case it helps someone. Everybody want the 3500's today, especially on the larger atv's.



I have gone through many cheap winches. They work fine for a year or two but then fail. I even had one catch fire! If you are in and out of a lot of water or know you will be using you winch a lot a cheap winch will not last anywhere close to a quality one. You will save money in the long run with a good winch.

I have a badlands on my Gator mounted to a detachable mount so I can move it to the rear in case I need to pull from the rear. I’ve only had to use it one and it worked great
