JERUSALEM—The massive surge of COVID-19 infections in Israel, one of the most vaccinated countries on earth, is pointing to a complicated path ahead for America.
In June, there were several days with zero new COVID infections in Israel. The country launched its national vaccination campaign in December last year and has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world, with 80 percent of citizens above the age of 12 fully inoculated. COVID, most Israelis thought, had been defeated. All restrictions were lifted and Israelis went back to crowded partying and praying in mask-free venues.
Fast forward two months later: Israel reported 9,831 new diagnosed cases on Tuesday, a hairbreadth away from the worst daily figure ever recorded in the country—10,000—at the peak of the third wave. More than 350 people have died of the disease in the first three weeks of August. In a Sunday press conference, the directors of seven public hospitals announced that they could no longer admit any coronavirus patients. With 670 COVID-19 patients requiring critical care, their wards are overflowing and staff are at breaking point.
“I don’t want to frighten you,” coronavirus czar Dr. Salman Zarka told the Israeli parliament this week. “But this is the data. Unfortunately, the numbers don’t lie.”

“If you have a very high percentage of people vaccinated, you’re not going to see a substantial blip. You may see a little, but not anything that even resembles a surge,”- St. Fauci, June 3rd, 2021.

Here is my question. I was vaccinated and I caught Covid. Did I catch it because it was a different strain that I was vaccinated for? If so, how do they know the virus would have been harder on me if I was not vaccinated? It was a different strain?

Well were they wearing masks made from underwear?

Israel has 12 per 100k hospitalized with covid
Louisiana has 64 per 100k hospitalized with covid
If we had Israel’s current “raped by covid rate”, we would be at one of our lowest points in the pandemic for hospitalizations at roughly 500
So “being raped” in Israel is the equivalent to tender kisses in Louisiana
Louisiana has 64 per 100k hospitalized with covid

Israel has a much denser population than Louisiana. I would think the denser populations would be hit harder.
One thing I think is hard to account for is the health of populations as well. How unhealthy are the people dying in both the unvaccinated and vaccinated populations?

Do they count Covid hospitalizations in Israel like we do here?

Unable to accept anymore patients
So, clearly they count them differently.

It’s not just Israel data. Oxford preprint shows Pfizer conferring less protection over time too, but even after 200 days it’s still similarly effective to AstraZeneca.
This is probably one place where they got the 8 month time frame from for a booster.

When you stratify the data properly and account for simpsons pradaox, here is the current efficacy in Israel by age against hospitalization
Falling yes, but hardly at the rate presented when you don’t properly account for the data
Honesty I know you have a hard on for hating me, but ylu will appreciate this explanation. He goes into many talking points against liberal talking points and supports prior infection as well

Bring us some stats. How About - how many children presently counted as Covid hospitalizations are asymptomatic for Covid?
Let’s see that stat.
Anybody?
