I don’t think it’s debatable at this point that the U.S. government would be fricking us 10 times harder and performing cruel experiments on children if they could disarm the population. Hence why no one with the wherewithal to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights is going to willingly hand over their firearms

What did the people of Australia think would happen? That’s just asking to be cucked. The right to bear arms is the only thing that somewhat keeps the government in check

It’s this. It’s a totally different cultural identity when you’ve got hundreds of years of serving a monarchy which in turn provides for you and protects you programmed into the society’s DNA. Canada, also a common wealth nation, will bend over just as quickly as Aussie.

It's really hard to believe that people who live in a country that has 12 of the world's 10 most poisonous snakes are okay walking around without firearms.

The Brits, and by extension, the Aussies, have centuries behind them of being ruled. They are extremely used to it. It's a mindset that is engrained in them. The good citizens who didn't want those chains, came to the New World.

Port Arthur Massacre. This was the catalyst for the knee jerk reaction.

It’s not ingrained in anyone born over the last 100 years. It’s not like anyone around has experienced a monarchy

Not everyone turned their guns in.

We are talking of a population of 30 million. Smaller than a lot of states in the US.

They had 650,000 guns turned in.

That’s a pimple on the butt of the US.

In that scenario, Mic Dundee would still have his guns.

The way they cowtowed to the aborigines and continue to do, should've signaled the world they were weak AF. Get murdered by an aborigine? We're so sorry that happened buttttt they're not ingrained in fabric of society yet.

Australia is the epitome of literal cuckoldry.

Because the government told them they would be safer if they gave up their guns.

Now be sure to get your jab because the government told you it is the safe thing to do.

Pattern recognition isn’t important. Just follow orders. Listen to your betters.

Batman proved you don't need a gun. Just make sure you have snake repellent in your utility belt.

We aren’t gonna do anything either. Heck, they are forcing masks on our kids and forcing vaccines on us and there is hardly any real outrage.

Folks are still going to pack college football stadiums even after the disrespect shown by the colleges towards our flag, and their bending of the knee to Marxist organizations last season. Weak

Why would the men of Afghanistan willingy flee & give up their guns / weapons knowing what would follow? Nato & the US didn't pay for Australian weapons so I don't care.

We need to ask this of Afghan dissidents/ men though.

I have heard rumors of a run on 12” pvc pipe when guns were being taken. I am sure there is still some fire power buried in the land down under just north sure if they have the balls to use it.

Yup it's why the media here gets giddy every time there's a mass shooting.

If I can add to these excellent points, the USA would be like Australia if we had not had a revolution. The Aussies never fought for independence. Our 2nd Amendment was one of the byproducts of winning the revolution.

Very different circumstances
