I'm watching ESPNU and he was talking about how he talked to an agent and a guy who played football for UF. He asked the guy about USC and the agent said that USC was the best team he's seen in a long time and then Cowherd asked him how would the game go if UF and USC played each other. The agent said that USC would "annilate" (sp?) UF...so my question is: Is USC really that much better than SEC fans? I know they're good, but if we played them even with our poor QB performance, would we lose by 3 or 4 td's?

I'm not trying to start anything, I just want to see what people think...and try to take your P&G glasses off...

USC is extremely good, but Cowherd has never denied that he plays to big markets

he's all about being loved by half the people and hated by the other half

he will even changes opinions from one week to the next to get his desired result

I stopped listening to his show a few years back. I know he has ties with USC and the LA market so I wouldn't put any trust in what he has to say about USC.

That story just sounds made up. UF has a great offense and the Heisman winner and has recruited lights out and some UF guy is throwing in the towel over watching USC beat a team UCONN destroyed and another team both UF and LSU have dominated without their best player. It sounds made up.

What is the SEC's record in the national championship game? When we get there---we WIN!!!

Oklahoma was the best team ever assembled in 2003. The media said no one could beat them. Final score, LSU 21 OU 14 (which occurred after they got drummed by K-State).

Ohio State was the best team ever assembled in 2006. The media said that UF would get killed. Final score, UF 241 OSU 13.

I'll have to see USC destroy UF, UGA, LSU before I buy into the hype.

Hate to say it, but I think if we played USC this week, we would lose by 3 TDs. Now at the end of the season, it might be a different story ... depends on how the QB situation pans out.

USC was supposed to be the best college team ever assembled last year. We all know how that turned out!

Its silly to say USC would annihilate UF. The reason the games are actually played and not decided by opinion is that no one knows what will happen on any given play. He probably thought USC would annihilate Stanford last year also.

To answer your question, if USC was in the SEC they would be the best team. Would they lose a game? Prolly one. Two is pushing it depending on who all they play. They would beat LSU easily if we scheduled a neutral site game and both teams were healthy.

I do beleive USC is the best team in the country. I DO beleive USC would beat UF, but it wouldn't be a blow out. Colin has a huge West Coast Bias. No matter how many times he brings up that he spent time in the south (Tampa) he is a Seattle guy all the way.

If USC played any SEC team for the Championship or in any bowl game I would go out and buy that team's hat and shirt. I would fly their flag in my front yard and pull for them as if I was pulling for LSU.

put this another way, if LSU played USC this weekend in LA and the line was -18.5 USC. Would you bet your house LSU would cover?

Not this year, but any year since 2001 I'd take that bet in a heartbeat.

I don't know...it's so hard to judge everything right now. They played UVA who SUCKS really badly and they played an overrated OSU team who is extremely mediocre when their best player is out. Then we've played a 1-AA team and a shitty UNT team. We haven't had any trouble in them and haven't really even tried. I don't think we would win, but I think we could keep it relatively close...at least closer than OSU.

It was like the NC was just a little hoop to jump through. UF didn't have a chance.

I'm not proud to say that I actually liked UF that day. I try to keep that memory buried in a deep dark place.

Truthfully, how big is the actual "market" for college football in So.Cal.?
