American troops cannot — and should not — be fighting and dying in a war that Afghan forces are by and large not willing to fight and die in themselves.

Since 2015 alone, over 55,000 Afghan troops were killed in the line of duty. What a betrayal. It’s one thing to withdraw but another to tell soldiers that they don’t care about their country when thousands per year died for it. This administration is evil.

There’s a lot of things to criticize Biden for in this debacle, but this is not one of them.

He’s absolutely right.

I'll also add that all the Folks that helped our Troops need to be taken to bases in Kuwait, Qatar ect. They don't need to come to the US.

Hundreds of thousands of them died. No, he’s not right on that. He’s simply heartless.

Compassionate conservatism is what got us into this in the first place. We're not obligated to enforce our views on the entire world. The people of Afghanistan want liberty, they'll fight for it like we did.

And the government and military folded within two weeks. If the non-Taliban citizens of that country won’t fight to not be ruled by the Taliban then why should we do it for them?

Shitcanning their ability to fight the way they were trained via abandoning Bagram AFB and not letting them bring in people to help maintain the base under their own control is a big part of why they aren’t fighting.

Teach a man how to do something and then remove the ability to do it the way he was taught and it all goes to shite quick.

That address was the most disgraceful address by a President that I have ever seen.

“The buck stops with me. But it’s the fault of Trump, the Afghans, the intel.”

According to official numbers, over 125K Afghans have been killed.

I’ve been watching and reading a lot of foreign news this morning...BBC, Sky, Independent, Telegraph, Al Jazeera, Le Monde, RT. Biden is getting roasted alive and America’s reputation is in tatters.

That is the reality.

This isn’t saying we shouldn’t have withdrawn, but saying their troops won’t die for their country is sick. What if that was said about our troops in Vietnam?

Glad we are gone. It was never going to be a clean exit. I’m just happy someone hit the off button.

As others noted, I saw a lot of able bodied men trying to board planes yesterday. Tells me all I need to know.

If the "Intel" agencies could pull their heads out of the aggressive search for White Terrorists perhaps they could have provided sound advice on this.

Maybe thoroughly Modern Milley could have aided in the assessment as well. He was too busy searching for the root cause of White Rage and Transgender rights in the US Military. Go fricking figure.

bullshite, he voted for this, he has been a part of a prior administration as well.

It has nothing to do with people fighting for their country, Biden voted and provided the funding for invasion.

It’s victim shaming. They are basically telling rape survivors “your skirt was too short”.

If he's right, he should have known before the pullout.

His plan should have reflected this reality.

Keep defending him.

The bigger story is that we’ve been lied to for twenty years by our military and state department. I don’t see how anyone honest on either side of the aisle trusts our “institutions” at this point.
