-Preseason game #1 was Saturday. Proud of the players and staff. Grass looked great. Felt like a real game
-Defense won the day which is expected early on in camp. Lots of good things on offense. Defense put a lots of pressure with 4 man pressure.
-Only two healthy corners were available and the defense rose to the challenge.
-Offense have made explosive plays. Ali Gaye was back full speed and he was letting the offense know it.
-Film from Saturday showed that the problems with the offensive line are fixable. Coach Davis worked hard on it with walkthroughs.
-Andre Anthony is the leader of the team. He and Ali Gaye feed off of each other. They have a competition for the defensive line called "point winner". Whoever makes the most plays. Andre won. He had 27 positive points from the scrimmage.
-The 2nd offensive line had a good day. Development wise O feels like Charles Turner can play Center or Left Tackle. He's been the utility guy that's had the best camp of the younger guys.
-Chasen Hines is out for a little bit. Praise for Anthony Bradford.
-True Freshman come in and they're ready to play. Corey Kiner and Armoni Goodwin are going to play. These young WR's are going to play. Mentions of Derrick Davis and Maason Smith do not look like freshman.
-Guy coming really coming along is Xavier Carter that was moved from linebacker to defensive end. He will be used in the nickel package.
-Goodwin is very fast. Kiner is a very physical back. Both can catch the ball out of the backfield.
-Recruiting wise with the start of camp the staff can't call prospects they have to reach out to them. Austin Thomas is in charge and has a great job with his staff.
-Schedule for this week will be a grind. Short yardage and goal line tomorrow practice tomorrow.

Did he mention Dellinger’s status?

Didn't hear that mentioned Saturn. I saw that they expect him back in a few weeks though.

T Bob mentioned Derrick Davis impressed him in the scrimmage on Monday - was active and had about 6 tackles

Probably the most accurate report from the player performance and scrimmage.

Something I hope carries forward. Would be incredible.

seems like none of the backup OL really want to solidify themselves. Hope that’s not the case and they really are just that flexible with the positions.

That would be an amazing timeline for a separated shoulder. Something tells me we will definitely need him this year.

Just don’t let him return kickoffs.

In the spring game he and Maason Smith were brought in together on third downs. Could see more of that.

He very well could be what Brooks was for us in 2018. He just needs to continue to add weight every off season

He looked like a WR in the spring game.

Any discussion of BJ?
Gotta be honest, we’re pumping Anthony and Gaye’s tires but BJ seemed to have the highest ceiling.

I didn't hear anything. This almost seemed like it could've been pre-recorded. Very short 8-9 minutes.

I know Emery and TDP have been nicked up in camp, but it sounds like Kiner and Goodwin are positioning themselves to step in and maybe over those guys if they don't get right.
Overall, the best thing I've heard from camp is that nearly every position has stiff competition. That will push these guys to get better or get left behind.

4 losses ain’t gonna cut it.

Ever since he said the 2020 defense was looking better than the 2019 defense, I have a hard time believing anything he says
