Whatever you guys think about Herb right now, we're all gonna luv him in a coupla years, and wonder how in the world he didn't go earlier, in the 1st round. Hide & watch, it'll happen.

This was already decided when, after the first few practices, we signed Daulton Hommes to the other two-way contract. That meant that, since both of our two-way contracts were taken, we were obviously signing Herb to a regular contract.

So, this wasn't a decision that was made now. It was a decision made at the very beginning of summer league. Personally, I think a lot on this board have overrated Herb, but he's obviously worth signing at a minimum contract.

Herb will be getting consistent minutes by the end of the season once he gets a chance to get rotation minutes when the inevitable injury bug hits the team for a certain number of games.

I believe Herb not only is on the team but WILL become a core player supplanting Hart and Didi eventually. He is a multi-skilled, swiss army player and can do a number of contributory things that will undoubtedly help the team from being able to adequately guard and switch every position on the floor, depending on the opponent, getting a rebound and leading a fast break, to intiating an offense and providing a certain grit every team needs, similar to what Hart brings to the table.

If Herb's shot improves and becomes consistent and its not as if he can't now (better than what his draft scouting reports portrayed), he very well could be a Leonard type player. Not saying All NBA or All Star, but definitely a caliber of Trevor Ariza with more ball handling skills, which is Championship worthy.

Herb will make Hart even more expendable if Hart doesnt considerably improve his shot this year. The wing positions will be fun to watch this year to see who establishes themselves bc to do so may very well mean, firmly in the running for 6th man of the year.
