Always made the right play, completely stuffed Mobley, Pat Williams, and Kuminga. When his shot didn’t fall he found other ways to score and contribute offensively. If he continues to play like this in preseason. You gotta start him

He has looked great. However, it is Summer League. Tough to anoint any player a starter because of Summer League play.

Kira, on the other hand, looked awful tonight. Almost makes me think we hold onto satoransky if kira doesn’t show he can play quality minutes off the bench. He looked lost tonight and we were forced to put the ball in Marshalls’ hand which should never be the case

which is why I said if he continues this trend through preseason. Either way he’s earned himself 24+minutes a night come regular season

Kira had a bad game but just had 22 points on efficient shooting in the previous game and 2 other solid games.

It happens

Agreed. He's looked more NBA ready than you could have dreamed in Summer League. Hopefully he looks as good in preseason against more real NBA players. With the roster as it currently stands it's hard to argue that anyone else has a better mix of skills to add to the starting lineup.

I don’t see how we don’t have in the rotation next season. He’s a lot better than I thought he would be. He’s one of the better shooters in the draft but he size and defense is extremely good. Dude is awesome.

It's not just the size and defense, he's got good BBIQ, good activity, and because he's 21 and not 19 he's got more skills as well, like his floater and scoring off cuts when his 3 isn't falling. His rebounding was solid too.

And he doesn’t always need to be a high usage player to be highly effective for us. People say it’s just summer league which is more than fair but his style of play caters much more to regular season style play than say someone like Cam Thomas.

Plus I don’t see any other player on our team who’s capable of guarding players like Giannis, KD, or Lebron. We’ve had issues for years needing to put our guards on these guys and always having a mismatch. Having Trey now gives us the length we need to potentially defend these guys more efficiently

I doubt Murphy can be starter ahead of NAW, BI and Zion...
If he arrives to be starter, either the 3 players mentioned are overrated, or Murphy is a generational talent as most people consider Zion to be a generational talent

the only way Murphy starts is if Ingram slides to the 2.

Might make sense to stagger some BI and Zion minutes with Murphy on the floor with Zion.

You really need to see Murphy's potential when 2021 regular season will be finished...You cannot see the real level of a player based on SL and preseason...

do we all remember when Griff said he liked the idea of BI playing the 2 last offseason? Maybe this is the opportunity to make this happen.

It’d still be tough to see that happening to start the season. That would essentially replace NAW with Murphy in the starting lineup. NAW was really starting to look like an NBA starter prior to his injury last season.

If NAW starts off slow out of the gates and Murphy is hot, then sure, I’m about trying it out. Let’s just not forget that NAW averaged like 27 points and 6 assists in the summer league with something like 2-3 steals a game

Murphy could be the steal of the draft I'm super glad we got him.

Yeah I agree but it would be fun to see IF he continues this kind of two way production through preseason

he's got good BBIQ

I read that just as BBQ and immediately thought I should try and get him on the show to share his brisket recipe
