I left the game encouraged by the progress I personally witnessed from our QB's. All this doom and gloom shite is ridiculous. Both QB's completed some nice balls and missed a few opportunities,as well...all this "sky is falling" mass hysteria is almost comical. If you didnt see progress from these two QB's, you're blind. This team is very good. This team will win games. These QB's will make some good plays and they will also struggle at times.....we're fine.

Agreed, but lets not let the other end of the spectrum get off easy. We can't expect to roll over anyone in the SEC this year, especially on the road.

I've been down on the QBs. I'll admit it. I think if we had completed one or two long passes, it would have done a lot for their confidence and our confidence in them. Remember, we played one of the worst teams in Div I football. Kansas State beat them by 1 more than we did. Tulsa scored over 50 points on them. Now, I don't blame Les for not running up the score, but I just would have liked to see some nice long completed passes.

We will be facing much stiffer D's in the weeks to come, and we still haven't really seen 1 QB shine much brighter than the other. Yes, the hurricane threw a wrench in the plans, so I'm going to hope that one of the two starts to click in the AU game. Here's to hoping.

I am fairly certain that Miles is sand bagging to some extent.

I must say, after watching the game on TV, it looked much better than it did from the field.

Point 1- Miles has sandbagged the talent so far.
Point 2- they were playing that prevent D crap so they gave them the underneath passes, still looked like crap though.
Point 3- Beckwith being out will hurt, we need his lateral speed to close on runners, I'm not too high on Cutrera in that respect.
Point 4- Auburn's offense stinks...to high heaven. Anything you say negative about LSU's offense you must say in return about Auburn's or you have no credibility as a poster.
Point 5- There would have been a downfield pass or two completed, but both TT and CMitchell dropped one each. The other downfield passes were crap and are of legitimate concern. We don't have to pass downfield to beat Auburn, contrary to popular opinion.
Point 6- there are some trick plays and wrinkles that Crowton has for Auburn, that no one has seen yet. Why do you think they close the practices?

Do you think that Hatch/Lee were deliberately overthrowing and underthrowing passes as part of an elaborate scheme to trick AU into a false sense of security?

They both need to get better, and I think they will. It still leaves room for concern about the game next weekend. It's really not being a negatiger.

yeah, but i tell you what; i thought it was much worse before i read the stat line. The yardage was minimal.

I had the same impression! While watching the game, I was freakin' 'cause it seemed like NTS was marching up and down the field, but the stats were minimal. We played better than we looked.

I agree with you 100%, the short pass could be our downfall if the corners don't close the gap with the receivers. We played 10 yards off the receivers most of the time.

i agree with most of what your saying but in ten years , this is the weakest qb play ive seen....they better progress....i know one thing...auburn will pressure the young qb's and it will be a big factor in the game saturday....

Unfortunately, i think its the power of suggestion for many fans. I turned to my friends while at the game a number of times times and said, "Wow! nice throw" or "nice job by Hatch/Lee". I thought Hatch especially showed some considerable improvement in his velocity. Not nearly as many wobbly, high arching passes. Lee shows he has all the physical tools, just needs more experience.

Launching the ball out the back of the endzone on 4th down.... that was pretty rediculous.

But as an eternal optimist I appreciate what youre saying...

The people that complain about our current quarterbacks are probably the same ones who complained about Matt Flynn, Jamarcus Russell and so on

I think 2002/2004 were worse. At least this year, even if the QBs dont progress, LSU has a running game and innovative play-caller.

Yeah hatch was deliberately over/underthrowing wide open wr's. Lee was deliberately attempting fg attempts from the qb position to make those auburn cb's overconfident.
