Culotta says LSU was blindsided by Matthews decommitting

Doesn’t sound like activities of someone who is just “playing the game” or is “all LSU”
For comparison, according to Culotta, even Shazz Preston and/or his family communicated with LSU prior to visiting Bama this weekend.
Culotta did say people he’s talked to at LSU and around Matthews thinks he signs with LSU. The whole thing stinks to me. Guess we’ll see.

I mean it was pretty well laid out already by some insiders. A&M is using a bagman like Bama did with Petitto here. He got to Matthews and got him to drop his commitment and visit A&M this weekend with whatever amount of $ he dropped to get that. Now they got donors running around telling everyone about this handler and to stay clear of him, they know who he is and what he's doing, etc.
We obviously got ground to make up but it's a long ways away, these things happen in recruiting now and it's part of the game. The good news is they seem to know what happened and arent just clueless.

That’s the biggest positive I think here. The rat is spotted. I’m hoping all they offered to Matthews was money for a decommitment and a visit. Time to lay down the big bucks for this kid. He’s worth it dammnit

A&M has been paying recruits they didn’t get since at least the 70’s when they gave Eric Dickerson the gold Trans AM

aTm gave him 10k Reasons to decommit, he will spend that and be back with the P&G when all said a done

... Then 5minutes later Shea says it's not a big deal, said no way he soured on LSU in one week after actively recruiting for LSU and thinks he will be in LSU's class.

I mean not even having the common courtesy to let LSU know raises a red flag to me. He doesn’t have to have a face to face conversation, but at least a phone call, text, DM or something.

Can you explain what you even mean by this in this context? Usually "spotting the rat" refers to figuring out which person leaked or is leaking sensitive info. I haven't the slightest idea how that applies here, but maybe i'm missing something.

I'll put it this way...
If a school is offering 5-figures for a visit, just the visit and a pool party, for 5*'s on the condition that you not be committed to another school...
... I'm decommitting too and making my 5 figures.
After that. Who knows. Aggies just might be the next to see the "Respekt My Decizion"

If they're offering $10k to attend a pool party, then what will they offer to get people to sign?

The real question is how much will we pay to bring him back.
It is a common refrain in negotiating that he who speaks first loses. Well, the just opened the bidding and after the intial shock we know what the number has to be as far as minimum.
We just might look at the guys on the field and last years class and say "too rich, not enough value". Just might say $10k is just our down payment.
But regardless, the real question is how bad do we want him. The money will be "found". If they, or Matthews, drive the number too high then fine - he can go try and get his draft stock up there.

Well, if it went down like we think it did, how do you tell LSU that? Probably better that he didn't. How would that convo go? "Hey, this guy is giving me $10k to say I'm decommitted and to attend this thing at A&M this weekend, but we're good and I'm still coming to LSU."

NIL will destroy state pride. Everyone will run to the highest bidder.
I know it's always happened, but nothing like this scale. You have to totally revision recruiting and do it nationwide. La recruits will be tempted by money that A&M and Texas can pay.

"Hey Im calling to say I'm decommitting because a random guy just paid me $10k to go visit A&M this weekend and said I had to be uncommitted"
Seriously, i mean...

So who the hell is Jordan Arcement
Posted on 8/2/21 at 10:54 am to The Pirate King
I stopped caring about recruiting before signing day a long time ago, this is why. Dumb drama. Everyone looking for the inside scoop.
