Violence doesn’t usually break out in the stands at these type of games does it?

Also, will watch this repeatedly beforehand to get my mind right:

Prepare to be offended by a chant that you have no idea what it means.

Prepare for all the Mexican fans to be assholes to you and or your children if you bring them. I went to the gold cup final in 2011. It started really great with two goals but then Jonathan fricking Bornstein had to come on because Steven Cherundolo or someone got injured. He was a massive step down and then we proceeded to get torched with four unanswered goals. Prior to this the Mexican fans were pretty quiet. After this point the beer throwing started. Several people got hit with glass bottles and had to go to the hospital. People were peeing into plastic cups filled with beer and throwing them onto the American fans in front of them. Security is organized by CONCACAF and not by US soccer, so it was very lax/nonexistent. My dad and I got harassed leaving the stadium with people coming up into our face and waving flags and shite. Just poor sportsmanship all around. Watch and see. Just keep your head on a swivel for flying objects.

The best moment was actually before the game when a group of Mexican American USMNT fans started chanting “support your home team” and “don’t forget who pays your welfare checks”

All the gringos (we were outnumbered 10 to 1) kept our heads down when they started chanting that

In 2019 I was at the final in Chicago and like 95% of the Mexican fans were fine, but the other 5% were terrible.

Thanks for the advice.

90%+ here are Mexican fans. All have been super cordial.

They were cordial before the game. It ended shortly after. I hope the crowd in 2021 is nicer than the LA crowd in 2011!

I have never had any problems with any Mexican fans but I am almost always bigger than them and I don’t ever start shite. They will all throw their beers if they score

It looked like they didn't stop selling beer for the entire 120 minutes.

True?

Incredible experience. Very glad that I went. It was definitely 90%+ Mexico fans in my section. Never sang the National anthem without anyone else around me doing the same that was bizarre.

The shock and disbelief by them on the Goal and the ability to just scream at the top of my lungs and savor it in was A+++.

I am going back to read the game thread now. It had this feeling in the stadium that USA had their chances early and missed them and so Mexico was going to get their bounce eventually - glad it didn’t go that way.

One last note, Allegiant is a very unimpressive venue. Concourse in the 300/400 level was built way to narrow and not enough bathrooms. Entering the stadium was a complete shite show - even two hours before the match started.

These caliber of games belong somewhere else.

I wouldn't want to be in a narrow corridor with 60,000 pissed off Mexican fans

USMNT games are so fun!
