Some of the first non-music programming they had was ok, like the “Remote Control” game show (earliest Adam Sandler I remember). But the further away from music they got, the worse they got.
I don’t remember watching MTV at all after 1988.

They started the downhill slide in the late '80s, but they still had some really good acts on "Unplugged" on into the '90s IIRC. That was about it though.
