Was Jordan Jefferson highly recruited by other schools?

Since there are other threads about JJ I was curious were all the other big schools after him? If I remember he came out of Destrehan. If he was offered to come to LSU he obviously had talent. What would his career be like if he went to another school and did not get ruined by Les Miles coaching? Would he still be in NFL right now if he was coached right and developed his talent?

JJ was on his way to Northwestern State until Miles showed him his condo.

247 doesn’t show his other offers, but he was a 4star and the #11 pro-style QB in the country. I believe he was a 3-star when he committed to LSU. I’m sure he had other SEC offers, Destrehan went 15-0 his senior year and he put up some pretty big numbers.
I remember we had been recruiting Terrelle Pryor but the staff backed off because they thought Jefferson was just as good.

He was a top 300 player. I think it’s safe to assume he had multiple offers.

Higher rated than Justin
Jordan was worth it for what Justin contributed

I never got the Jefferson hate. Almost every quarterback under Miles was underdeveloped and utilized poorly.

It’s been 10 years. Let it fricking GO!!!!

He beat Nick Sabans Alabama teams twice. Can any of our other QBs who went against him say that?

I don’t blame JJ. I blame Les.

We don't beat Alabama in 2011 regular season without Jordan Jefferson...fact. Regardless of what happened later in January, it was a great win.

I do remember Les recruiting Dak for tight end.

You could put together an impressive 4 star and 5 star list of quarterbacks that Les Miles signed and failed to develop.
Can not blame Jefferson here.

By signing day, he rose to a four star rating. He looked absolutely unreal in the 5A state championship against Acadiana. After seeing that game, I was excited that he was on his way to LSU. At the time, Mike Detillier called him the best high school qb he had ever seen, fwiw.

He killed it in the state title game. Played really well

Who cares, for how bad Jefferson was, he's brothers more than made up for it and both came home. I hope he has another brother, because at the rate they keep getting better he'd be a Heisman trophy winner

Absolutely. He lit up his HS championship game for destrehan too and I remember and article on rivals saying if there was another update that he would have been in the 5* discussion
Jordan Jefferson put up great numbers his sophomore year.
He was never going to win a heisman but in the right offense he could have been a title winner.
He and every other QB under Miles, after the Lee interception year, was put into a shitty situation over and over and over again

Jefferson would have gotten a huge NIL deal from Shady's with all the publicity he gave them

Ole Miss was the first SEC school to offer Jefferson. He missed his junior season due to a broken wrist, so a lot of schools waited to see how he recovered his senior season. He was also recruited by Alabama, Florida, Georgia Tech, and Auburn. He committed to us right after we offered.

He almost signed at Louisiana College. It was close.
quote:Hell yes. Think Duante Culpepper.
Would he still be in NFL right now if he was coached right and developed his talent?
quote:Probably a mix between Trevor Lawrence, Terry Bradshaw, and Ryan Leaf.
What would his career be like if he went to another school

JJ gets tons of hate but I think this guy would've succeeded in the NFL had he played a different position his entire career at LSU. He was pretty damn athletic.
