I would not be surprised to see many hospital systems across the country follow suit.

It's an act of congress to get exemption from the flu shot, I can only imagine what it will take for the Covid vaccine.

quote:

Baylor Scott & White Health is requiring its staff and other workers in its hospital to be vaccinated as the COVID-19 delta variant cases continue to increase.

Starting Oct. 1, Baylor Scott & White Health employees, providers, volunteers, vendors, students and contract staff must have to be vaccinated unless granted an exemption.

Last month, the Houston Methodist System made headlines after employees challenged its June 7 deadline to get a vaccine. There were protests outside the Baytown location, and about 120 employees filed a federal lawsuit. A judge threw it out. Afterward, more than 150 employees were either fired or resigned.

In North Texas, Parkland Hospital confirmed it is considering making vaccinations mandatory.

If a private company wants to require a vaccine, they have the right to do it. That’s the beauty of the free market

Parkland, which is a level 1 trauma center closely affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical School, is a publicly funded Dallas County hospital.

John F. Kennedy was pronounced dead there.

My daughter (no pics) works in the ICU at BUMC (part of Baylor, Scott, and White) and sent me the email she got yesterday. She already had gone for her shots since she is dealing with the Covid patients.

So on one hand they're saying the Delta Varient is not stopping transmission while vaccinated, then on the other forcing vaccinations because of it.

Derp. Who said anything about boycotting hospitals? I was merely pointing out that a publicly funded institution is considering making health decisions for their employees.

Any antivaxxer on earth can walk into this hospital at anytime, these rules don’t apply to the general public.

Healthcare workers can be a squirrelly lot (not news, especially nurses).

Hospitals have held off from requiring them to be vaccinated because the squirrels amongst them would resist and can get a job next week somewhere else that doesn’t require them to be vaccinated. Sounds like the hospitals in that area got together (colluded?) and decided to call their bluff.

The workers’ options now are to move for work or be vaccinated.

Does a private company get to discriminate on hiring?
Does a private company get to pay less than minimum wage?
Can a private company fire you for your religious beliefs?
Is a private company free from HIPAA and other laws?

on and on and on and on.

Sounds pretty normal for all hospitals. Most hospitals required the flu vaccine before covid started

This is the actual language the article in the other post emanated from:

quote:

"Information on the Delta variant from several states and other countries indicates that, on rare occasions, some vaccinated people infected with the Delta variant after vaccination may be contagious and spread the virus to others,"

Sums up the whole situation and none of the left can answer why.

All the things you listed Are in violation of law. You may as well have asked if your employer can cut your head off.

Requiring vaccination as a condition of employment is legal.

Next what will prevent companies from requiring vaccine verification for entry/ services... Airlines, sports arenas, grocery stores, etc.

No need to worry if you’re vaccinated.
