I need more information. Granted it wasn't our faces but my friends and I used to shoot each other with BB guns when we were kids.

Yeah, me not trusting journalists to be informed, I think it's very possible this was a pellet gun and not a BB gun. There are pellet guns out there that can do some damage. A BB gun? Not so much. Maybe put an eye out.

Yeah, I think you're right. Especially with the pointed pellets coming out of a higher powered air rifle.

Some pellet guns can shoot a .22 cal hunk of lead upwards of 1,000 fps. You can definitely frick someone up with one.

I've shot fricking birds with pellets from 15-20 yards away that didn't die immediately, or maybe never because I didn't find them.
Killing a human with a BB? I don't know whether to be impressed or terrified.

As a kid I had a .20 cal Sheridan, it was a faster fps than the benjamin. It wasn't going through ribs or a skull, by any means. But if I shot you with it you were seeking medical attention. And if you got shot in the eye or throat, yeah, I could see rare fatal instances.

i remember years ago in like the early-mid 70s. Two guys got in a fight and decided to settle it with guns.
one guy got a pellet gun, the other got a 410 shotgun.
410 guy won. But, i remember wondering wtf was the guy going to do with a pellet gun.
my BIL said well if he get the first shot in the guy's eye...
