The vet warned me that Prarie dogs carry the plague after she learned my dog went ham on some bunnies.

Maybe not, but the plague being carried by the prairie dogs north and east of Denver are real. It's threatening other animal populations. It's why the camping at a phish concert at the Rapids stadium was canceled and prohibited a couple years ago.

Several years ago we shot up hundreds of prairie dogs in Kansas and had the good sense not to touch one of those little bastards. Left them to the snakes and buzzards.
And, before going to the Nam in ‘69, we were filled with vaccinations including the bubonic plague, yellow fever, dengue fever, beriberi, cholera, and more — plus took a form of hydroxy weekly for malaria. I wonder if they didn’t have a lasting effect. I’ve never had the flu or COVID.
Not afraid of the plague either.
