Retrievers eating charcoal?

My German shorthairs will search it out of given 1/2 a chance

I’ve seen every breed of bird dog do it

Never had any eat charcoal but a female lab would chew, rip, shred a beer can and never cut his mouth. Chew a golf ball up and play with the core of rubber bands. Rip a pine cone of any size or color and peel each scale one by one.

I'll do you one better, I recently dug some holes for posts and had to fuss at my dog for eating the dirt I was getting out! Anybody ever see that one?

Buddy of mine had a retriever that loved eating live crawfish

My Lab will devour charcoal at any given opportunity.
