When that happens, the governor will have a very strong role to play," DuBos told the Louisiana Radio Network. "This strengthens his hand in dealing with the legislature when dealing with major issues like redistricting, the budget, and other things. I don't think anyone should be surprised by whatever happens because we just don't have a point of reference. This is going to be the point of reference going forward for veto sessions. I think they need to choose a better issue to take a stand on--not one that simply appeals to their base, but one that appeals to a broader section of the community."
Reply to Dubois: The 68 votes represent almost 70% of the State. Ordinarily, that percentage rules on EVERY issue. The problem is you have a Democratic governor representing 30 plus percentage of the state dictating social policy to 70% of the state.

Until Republicans grow a set of balls, he will dictate to 100% of the state

One of his reasons for not overriding the Veto was because there currently aren't any biological males competing in women's sports in Louisiana.

Golden-spoon, privileged Valencia punk who has probably never put in an honest day's work in his entire life. His opinion means nothing, zilch, nada.

Well the original vote on the bill passed with enough votes to override a veto. Only reason the veto was sustained was because 3 or 4 people flip flopped on their votes a few weeks later. Seems like the bills originally passed with broad appeal. Its not like they were trying to override a veto on something that passed the legislature with a slim majority.

Dubos is a far leftwing whackjob HACK who is full of himself. For the most part, he's a complete f*cking idiot advancing an agenda while trying to make it sound like he's a real journalist.

Having the governorship in LA means more than having 70% of the legislature.

Despite having 70%... the republicans put up flawed candidates in two consecutive races.
